Summer fading fast......

I love the summer and the warm weather, but even here in Colorado I can smell fall in the air with the cool mornings we have been having. I have been taking advantage of that and going for a walk. Here are a few critters that great me in the am.

I first have to say I am a little of a neat freak and felt that my studio was getting too messy. So I spent the better part of the day cleaning and rearranging a little bit.

The best thing about this (not only having a clean and organized studio) but my 16 year old decided to clean up his room as well!!!

Is The Grass Always Greener.......

Is the grass always greener on the other side of the fence. Well, Bandit seems to think so.

I myself don't always agree. Why is it that we are never truly happy with what we have and wonder if only.... I had a better car, bigger or smaller house, better job, etc.

I have been doing this alot lately and it doesn't seem to get me anywhere but right back on my side of the fence. I think I have decided to be happy with what I have and make the most of it.

Now why am I posting this you ask (other than to just rant), well I would like to hear why you think the grass is greener on your side of the fence and I will randomly draw a name next Friday (June 5th) and that person will receive one of my polymerclay pendants.

Pay It Forward

So as you can tell I have not been blogging lately. I am not a writer by any means. I was surfing on the web this morning trying to get my mojo back and noticed I had a convo from a lovely person on Etsy . She has a lovely shop over on Etsy and wanted to let me know she has a pair of my earrings pictured on her blog. This gave me a little nudge and something to blog about.

It just goes to show what a little help from one another can do. Is there someone out there you can give a little nudge to?

I Made it in another one......

Treasury, that is. I just got home to a lovely convo from SpringColors letting me know she had included one of my PMC fortune cookie necklaces in her treasury. That really made my day.

Young Love

I had a custom order that I have been making for a teenage boy who is giving it to his girlfriend. It made me think back to those days of teenage love, how sweet and pure that love was and yes at times maybe a little painful. It seemed that at that moment you were the only two in the whole world. In this busy world we live in now, we need to take time to remember the precious things in life and what is really important.

The dishes will be there tomorrow, take time to tell someone you love just how you feel.

My First.......

I was out of town over the weekend and when I got back and check my emails, I had one from a sweet seller on etsy by the name of suzini who had featured my "Little Berry" ring in her treasury.

It was a such a nice surprise and my first treasury.

It feels like spring, the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming, but I know it is still only March and out here in Colorado we still will get some more snow. So, for now I will enjoy the sunshine and birdies singing!

In a Copper Mood

So I have kinda neglecting my blog lately and just wanted to get a post in. I have had this copper wire sitting in my studio for a while now and decided to make some items with it. I made a man's ring, 2 lady's rings and a pair of lovely earrings. I am off to list them on my Etsy site.

So, I have met some great people here on the web, it's so much fun to talk with people you normally would never have the chance to meet. As many of you know that follow my blog I have a shop on Etsy and I have been chatting it up in the Forums and have met some great people there as well who have included me on there blogs and also a great new website so I just wanted to share them with you. Positive Thinking....It really works!!!

So, I had been really feeling down in the dumps due to lack of sales on my Etsy store (definitely not due to lack of trying) and just life in general. Well, to tell you the truth I really got tired of feeling down in the dumps and thought if I can feel down I can turn that around and just start thinking positive! Well guess what... It really works. Last week I got a call from one of my customers and she has opened an upscale consignment shop and wants to carry my jewelry in the shop. So I brought several pieces in today and she purchased most of the pieces and would also like me to make a few more. A few other wonderful things have happened as well. Just goes to show you that positive thinking is a great way to go!!

Branching Out

I am a polymerclay artist at heart but have started to really enjoy working with metal. In an earlier post I said that I would be combining the two. Well here is my latest creation and I just love it. I made the ring band using the tutorial in Step by Step Wire Jewelry spring 2009 magazine. I then incorporated a polymerclay cane made into a bead. Friendly Plastic

An Ah Huh Moment!!!

My son receives what's called a "Wednesday Express" each week from school, basically it is a news letter that tells what is going on at school, dates of activities, etc. There is always notes from the principal and this weeks notes was really good and really made me think and I just wanted to share it with all my fellow bloggers. So here is what she (Mrs. Coats) had to say: On "Relationships... Family members don't trust you; former friends avoid you; neighbors and acquaintances are openly hostile? Sounds like your relationships are in the red. Don't get it? Think of relationships as a bank account.

Every time you meet someone you open an account.

Deposits like keeping promises, doing small acts of kindness, smiling, or giving compliments improve relationships.

Withdrawals like setting false expectations, breaking promises, being rude, or lying damage them. How can you build a strong relationship or repair a broken one? Simple--one deposit at a time.

So, I'm off to the bank of life to make a few DEPOSITS!!!

I think I have RMS!!

Okay, so your wondering what RMS is: Restless Medium Syndrome. I call myself a polymerclay artist at heart but I've been venturing out to work in other mediums, fine silver being the one at the present moment. I have fallin' in love with it and now when I go to work on something with polymerclay everything I try to make just doesn't seem to come out right.

Do any of you have that problem?

I guess I'll just keep at it and I know that my love for polymerclay will find me again soon:o) For now back to the torch and wire I go. And yes, I have thought of combining the two. Stay tuned!

Sticking To It...

This looks soooo yummy and I bet could be easily done in polymerclay. It would have a lot less calories as well.


So I started this blog with the intent to post at the least once a week! Ha....What happened, perhaps life and all it's lovely little excuses. I'll get to it after I do that load of laundry, after dinner, after I get a quiet moment in the evening (ya right, with two teenagers and a third child being hubby). It is so easy for those things to become excuses to not get the things done that I should be doing to promote my business.


I am really going to make a conscience effort to keep this blog updated, but right now I'm going downstairs to reward myself with a piece of chocolate ( those extra 5 pounds gained over the holidays will come off eventually) and a cup of tea.
